Studio Smara is a young Architecture and Interior Design studio, founded 2 years ago by Architects Manasa Rao and Sruthi Kumar.
With a wide spectrum of combined work experience, we engage with diverse project scales and typologies — ranging from residential interiors to large-scale urban design projects.

OUR FOUNDERS
Manasa Rao
Sruthi Kumar
Manasa Rao is a senior Architect specializing in interior architecture and energy-efficient buildings, as well as an accomplished classical Bharatanatyam dancer. She holds a Master's Degree in Architecture from CEPT University and the University of Stuttgart, and participated in the prestigious MIAD workshop at the University of Cincinnati. Manasa’s 13-year portfolio includes over 20 projects across India - ranging from residences and commercial spaces to clinics, renovations and farmhouses.
Sruthi Kumar is an Architect and Urban Designer with over a decade of industry experience. She holds a Master's degree from the University of California (UCLA). Sruthi has contributed towards groundbreaking research and design initiatives, including the development of the Hyperloop in collaboration with HTT. Sruthi has spearheaded design and construction of large-scale commercial projects in Bangalore, such as the Boeing campus and a cutting-edge 3D Printing facility at Airport City.
